Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your break! Before the break, we visited Riley's Farm, where we were immersed in the Revolutionary War Living History Tour. It was great, and we learned a lot! We also celebrated our friendships with Secret Buddies. Mr. Carter was stunned at the creativity and thoughtfulness put into each present that students made for each other. We are a lucky community!
Now that we are back from break, we are finishing our work with the Revolutionary War and will enter into the next eras. We will go quickly in the next few weeks, examining the Civil War, Industrial Revolution, World Wars I and II, the People's Movement, and the Post-Civil Rights Movement. This is because students will then get to choose one period to study in more depth. They will create a presentation that will teach other students about the ways that different groups of people experienced the American Dream at that time.
In math, we are continuing our work on multiplying and dividing fractions and decimals. As we continue to work on math stations, we ask that families support their students with work they are not able to complete in class. They should be completing this work for homework, and also revising any work based on feedback from Mr. Carter.
We have a Spelling Test on Wednesday on the words with silent letters (wr, kn, and mb). Please remind your students to practice their words daily.
